We can provide a bilateral approach, which involves starting with one specific bidder; a targeted approach, which focuses on specific strategic buyers; or a broad approach, which covers a full sale process and the broadest range of potential buyers.

In addition to screening potential buyers carefully, we use our deep understanding of our clients’ products and operations to answer due diligence questions at the front end of the process. It is only after potential suitors have demonstrated a high level of seriousness that we introduce them directly to the company.

A typical bank conducting a traditional buyer analysis focuses on a short list of obvious potential buyers. Access to these buyers is important, but it is not enough. In today’s environment, we find that it is often the less obvious acquirers who are willing to stretch for creative deals that maximize shareholder value.
